Oh dear, I’m guessing that your postman had an imperial stout for breakfast a few weeks back!

    February competition - Dark Beers

Oh bo***cks! I’ve literally just mummified it and wrapped it ready for posting tomorrow morning and then read this! I’ve put a note on the box it is in with the style ABV and my name also email address in case. Sorry about that. Do I need to break into it and amend it or will I get away with it...

    Hop spider clogged up

I brewed at the weekend and when removing the hop spider before chilling I noticed that the hop spider was pretty clogged up and the wort inside drained very slowly. I thought it had been the amount of wheat, 30% the grain bill was: 3.14kg Pale malt 1.35kg Wheat 270g Carapils I added T90...

Clearer Beer. Clarity Ferm and Others.

Sorry, that wasn’t my question. It was wether using Clarity Ferm with Irish Moss would have a detrimental effect.

Clearer Beer. Clarity Ferm and Others.

I use Clarity Ferm in all of my AG beers as my Dad is coeliac. It works well and the beer is great but in my effort to make my beer clearer, particularly my lagers, I wondered if I also used another fining as well, maybe Irish Moss would it maybe strip some taste or any other effect I don't...

    Dry January 2022 ?

I didn't manage to drain my kegs over Christmas and I have a few beers planned for the new year so it's looking like a wet January for me. On top of that, I 'accidentally' ordered a selection of trappist beers to try!

    What size hole

Ah, sorry, my mistake. For some reason I assumed that you were drilling through the wooden collar of a keezer. I’ve no idea what that bit will do against the side of a fridge, I think they are for wood but someone on here would have tried it. Good luck.

    What size hole

Try and clamp/ hold a piece of scrap wood on the other side of the wood so when the spade bit come through the other side it continues to drill. Just a small way into it. This will reduce the wood splitting as it breaks through the other side.

    Stout from the keezer

I have 2 inline regulators so that is an option, thanks. Would serving at 5psi be enough? I guess I will find out.

    Stout from the keezer

I'm making a stout ready for christmas and will be putting it in my keezer. I will be carbonating with CO2 as I can't quite stretch to more gear like nitrogen. I have 3 taps and serve at 10 PSI so I guess I can't carbonate it any lower. Does anyone have any advice/ trick that I may be missing...

    YeastFace Brewdays

What hazelnut extract are you using? I’ve toyed with the idea of adding some to my next stout.

Closed Transfer From Bucket to Corny Keg

Silly question alert! How do you know when you have 19L in the keg? I generally get a few bonus bottles on top of my keg fill. Or do you just aim for 19L in the FV?
