    Wood burners

I've had one of those since last Christmas and it's fantastic. Highly recommended.

    Out of date yeast

I just try not to waste things unnecessarily. But you're right it is relatively cheap.

Love the diagram. Yes I'm sure that would work. I just like the look of the stainless steel one as it all comes apart for easy cleaning and I the spring clip to hold it in position. The plastic sorts never work that well in my experience.

I put one in the dish washer and ruined it. The rubber plunger thing wore out on another one. Bought another one yesterday so hopefully it'll last longer.

    Out of date yeast

Hi, has anyone used out of date yeast? I have 3 packs of Lallemand East Coast that expired in June. Seems a shame to chuck it. Obviously it's been kept in the fridge.

    BrewSSSiphon

I'm trying to source one at the mo. Been through 3 useless plastic ones at £20 each already. Cant seem to get one in uk anymore as the Malt Miller has stopped supplying them. Buying one direct from Brewsssential would cost $180 plus god knows what import duties.

All in one system vs Biab?

Are these systems worth the cash? Is there that much difference between just boiling it on a hob? TIA...

    Water additions.

Hi, just wondered if anyone in the East or West midlands (UK) has used any gypsum or calcium chlorides? I live about 15 miles from Burton upon trent so my water should be pretty good so us it worth me doing it. Has any one had a water report from their supplier? Is it easy to do and worth doing...

    Flaked, Torrified and Malted

Ok Thank you. Would you say there are any advantages to torrefied over malted. Is there any point in buying torrefied if i end up buying 10kg of malted to do some wheat beers?
