Hi, I’m looking to do my first dry hop. I’ve got 100g of hops and two muslin bags.
Is it better to weigh the bags down or just chuck them in? Is it better to use bags or just chuck the hop pellets in on their own? I have an FV with a tap and if I put them in on their own I’m worried about how to...
How long do hop pellets stay useable for?
I’ve had half a bag cello tape sealed in the freezer for about 6 months, will these still be ok to use?
Cheers
Hi, I’m looking to do a brew tomorrow from a 40 pint golden ale tin. I’ll be adding a hop tea to the mix aswell as malt extract around 400g. I was thinking of adding syrup as well to make it up to the 1kg .
Firstly does this sound ok?
Secondly has anyone added flavourings such as vanilla...
Thanks I’ll definately try adding the hops this time as I thought that could only be done for from scratch brewing.
Thanks to everyone you’ve given me some good ideas.
I think it was to do with using an old wooden spatula to stir it as isn’t lost my plastic one. I did sterilise it but from what I’ve read afterwards they can be difficult to fully sterilise. Also I kept opening the tub to check it.
Hi,
I’ve done two brews from the malt cans and the last one spoiled. I’m looking for somewhere that sells a cheap ale kit just so I can get my brewing confidence back before moving on to a more expensive one.
My question is where is the best place to buy from?
Thanks
