Gosh, doesn’t seem anything like that thin. Seems pretty sturdy

    First time cold crash

I’m trying first cold crash in my Fermzilla (in my newly acquired £15 fridge). Have set Inkbird to 2.5C and will see if the fridge even makes that. Being a newbie, I’m not sure if it’s ok to leave the Fermzilla with just the carbonation caps, (thus no bubble air lock) Seems to be no pressure...

    Osprey's first Brewzilla Brew Day

Much appreciated. In fact I have used your Proper Job vid as a benchmark learner. Liked your style and observations. I may well be in contact!

Calibrate by comparing with a “reliable” thermometer? Is recirc arm same as whirlpool arm? My OG was only 1 out, according to my refractor (what a great gizmo)

Yup, it was set at HH. Can’t go more than that - goes back to zero

    Osprey's first Brewzilla Brew Day

As a beginner I was using the wrong terms! I was actually at the boiling stage, after that marathon sparge. So still puzzled why it took so long...... So I am not sure how you can follow David Heath’s suggestion and give the mash a good stir? Thanks for all your tips!

    Osprey's first Brewzilla Brew Day

Did my first brew with my new Brewzilla yesterday (Summer Lightning AG kit from Brew UK). Couple of things didn’t go smoothly. The mash temp seemed to get stuck at 97C for about half an hour. In the end I put the pump on and covered with the lid and a pullover! Soon after it reached 100 and...

    British app for home brewing

Being new to the homebrew scene and with my first brew fermenting, I thought I would start to log the process and find an app that held recipes, converters, tips etc. Went into Apple store and found most apps that fit my requirements are American, or aimed at that market. I like some American...

I’m a beginner and creating a beer cellar

Reckon the Fermzilla gets a universal vote. Shame these things are still stuck/being made in China....

Thanks Ph sounds like good advice. Steam cleaner must be a real bonus.

Thank you foxy. So that could be the Fermzilla, but without the pressure kit in your view?

I’m a beginner and creating a beer cellar

Thanks for your thoughts. Does your heat belt maintain a constant temp - or do you regulate manually?

I’m a beginner and creating a beer cellar

I have an underground space under a ground floor room; constant temp of 14 degrees. Possibly not quite cold enough?
