    Elderflower Champagne First Timer

another EC first timer here, again I more normally do beer or cider. Mines been in the bucket for 12 days, I filtered out the flowers on Sunday. But I'm surprised at how slowly it's moving, it's only at 1.040 now - using the same yeast I fermented out a 10% imperial stout in 2 weeks. For the...

    Bottling time tips and tricks.

I only brew 10-12L batches, probably not practical with 20 odd litres. The hack is really having the bottling wand on a tube - e.g. you can have all your sanitised bottles on a tray and move the wand from bottle to bottle./

    Bottling time tips and tricks.

bottling bucket up on a stool and wand on the end of a line of tubing (the tube in the pic is from my auto-siphon). I've also started using 660ml bottles so I have fewer to clean/sanitise etc.

    Your Best DIY Equipment?

water drains from the bag fine. Once I've hung it up on the bike stand I twist it around a few times to squeeze the wort out and it just flows out without a problem (don't know where you'd buy the bag separately though).

came with the Ace mash/boiler (which I think is now Klarstein). It has a metal ring around the rim for reinforcement.

    Minikeg Ball-lock Lid

I have a 5L keg from iKegger, just started using it last month. As it's my first venture into kegging I'm still getting to grips with it, but overall I'm happy, it fits in the fridge (just) and plan to buy a couple more kegs. Currently using 16g CO2 bulbs but I have a sodastream adaptor for it...

    Woodfordes, Sundew Review

I'd agree with the Leffe comparison - I've just tried my second bottle @ 4 weeks, its mellowed a fair bit since 2 weeks ago, not much head but fizzy enough for me. Its a pleasant refreshing brew, not sure I'd drink a load of them in one night, but should be nice with food. I was expecting...

    Woodfordes, Sundew Review

just cracked my first bottle of this tonight - wasn't quite what I was expecting, bit sharp and wheat-beer-esque. It's only been in the bottle 2 weeks, might give it another couple weeks to mature. this is the first all malt kit I've done.
