    Flat It's a Trapp

Thank you that's a really interesting read. I add the .05g of CBC 1 on Thursday to a pet bottle at 20° and is firming up nicely feels about the same as another bottle of a different beer I bottled on the same day so all looks good will see what it's like in a fortnight.

So take what they say with a pinch of yeast as the saying goes.

    Flat It's a Trapp

I like what you are saying interestingly a friend of mine did the same kit which again ended up at 9%ABV although his has good carbonation I'm not sure which yeast he used though. Like you say at these sort of levels of alcohol it can't be a good environment for life I'm not sure how long I...

    Flat It's a Trapp

That was my thinking. I wouldn't usually condition at such a high temperature but I was fermenting a sour ale which called for 27° and as I fermented the Tapp at that temperature I didn't think it would do any harm.

Thanks so .05 in each bottle I'm not sure my scales are that accurate but maybe rehydrate full amount and use a syringe to prime each bottle.

I've ordered some CBC-1 conditioning yeast just got to work out how much to put in. I'll do an experimental bottle condition for a couple of weeks at 20° and see how it goes. Thank you all for your help it's great to know there's someone there in your hour of need.

I've got a Keg spare is oxidation a risk or is OK if you get the co2 on straight away

    Flat It's a Trapp

Thank you for that it's all very interesting. I dissolve the sugar in 500 ml of water pour into bottling bucket and syphon beer on top and a gentle stir. I've never had a problem and never made a beer with such high ABV.

    Flat It's a Trapp

Thank you ever so much for your reply. Yes it is sweeter than I would expect that's why I was thinking about yeast not being able to handle the alcohol. The capping is fine that's why I opened 2 and may I add drank 2 very nice but will be better for leaving a month or two. Maybe as you say to...
