Liz Truss has promised to announce a plan to deal with soaring energy costs within a week

Unfortunately I am old enough to remember that Mrs Thatcher closed the mines as she never forgave the miners for bringing down Ted Heath's government, she was not prepared to have that happen to her government! As far as I am aware we had in the region of 300 years worth of coal left in the...

    MP Scandals

When I saw the cobbled together photograph of all the candidates for PM outside the door of number 10 on the BBC news I couldn't help singing in my head 'This is what we call the muppet show' God help us all!

Who will be the next PM? [Poll]

To be honest I wouldn't trust any of the candidates to be in charge of a chimps tea party let alone becoming PM!

The end of the road for Boris.

The trouble with our political system is that you can get less than 50% of the popular vote and still have a stonking great majority in the House of Commons!

Picture or Video of the day.

I remember my mum paying 35pence a gallon for Shell 3 star petrol at our local garage and you'd get a free mini bust of a famous footballer too. I can also remember filling up my brand new moped a Yamaha FS1E DX (bright canary yellow) for £1.00 including a shot of 25:1 two stroke oil out of a...

    Recommend a reliable yeast please?

I would suggest Lallemand Nottingham too, tears through sugar and is very neutral in flavour too.

What are you drinking tonight 2022?

At 99p you can't go wrong, I personally prefer Bishops Finger (as the choir boy said)!

What are you drinking tonight 2022?

Just supping a pint of extra special bitter brewed on 31/1/ 22, tastes great and lovely and clear, 5.8% ABV so won't be downing too many of these in one go as I am pretty much a light weight when it comes to alcohol consumption.

    Hi all from sunny Kent

Good day to you all. I've been viewing the forum for a while and have been very impressed with the wealth of knowledge and the help that is given here so thought I'd sign up. I have just started brewing again since my previous foray into the world of brewing in the 70's. My Dad was an avid kit...
