    Warm beer - train journey

Yeah the beers are just for the train journey, gotta stay hydrated on our travels! Will just grab a few random bottles from sainsburys and avoid lagers which are generally rotten unless just about frozen.

    Warm beer - train journey

Looking for some advice on a commercial beer that will taste decent at room temperature. Going on a stag weekend from Glasgow to Manchester so circa 4hour train journey, beer isn't going to stay cold. Any suggestions? Happy to consider ale, lager, stout actually any beer at all! Cheers.

Ritchies On the Rocks, Mixed Berry Cider Review

Have had one of these in the bucket for two weeks now so ready to bottle this weekend. Gravity sitting at 1.000, didn't take an initial reading. Anyone any idea how much priming sugar I should be adding? First go at cider but reckon it should be well carbed, maybe 4g per 500ml bottle?

    citra ipa (i hope)

Single hop Citra IPA will be potent. Now I like a bit of Citra, so picked up a bottle of M&S single hop IPA Citra and bloody hell it was like drinking concentrated grapefruit juice with some pure lemon mixed through!

Coopers FV with tap - HELP!!!

Turns out you just trust it and it comes apart. So it was completely broken after just one use. Took it back to the brew shop on Dumbarton Road, Glasgow and they replaced it for me free of charge no problem. Beer is now bottled.

Mini Keg Usage, Maintenance & Party Star Deluxe Part 1

Eventually got round to tapping my first keg with the party star tap. Didn't go well, all I got was a keg full of foam, gutted to say the least. Keg had been in the fridge for best part of two months so was definitely chilled. At legging stage I added 12g of sugar, have I over primed it...

    Party star with no bulb

Only had one Co2 bulb or I would've put another in. Just left the keg until I get a chance to pick more up from brew shop.

    Party star with no bulb

So I managed to over tighten the cover when loading up my Co2 bulb and ended up blowing the lot out before I'd even got a beer from it. So, will the tap still work without a Co2 bulb? The keg doesn't have a bottom tap so this is the only way I can get to the beer!!!!

HELP! Coopers Pilsner & Saflager W-34/70 dosage

Have done this kit once and am pretty sure the yeast supplied is a proper lager one. I certainly used it at about 14C and it worked fine, so combining it with an additional pack of yeast certainly won't do any harm. I had all sorts of bother cos I just chucked the LME into the FV with hot water...

    Coopers FV & loose hops

Just to wrap this thread up, I actually did what I suggested in my opening post: moved the beer to a second FV through a sieve, cleaned original Fv and added a sugar solution, then moved beer back to this and bottled from there. Wasn't anything like as much hassle as I expected it to be. The...

    Coopers FV & loose hops

Cheers guys, thanks for the advice. I think I've made a complete cock up of this hopping process as I may have thrown the hop sock that comes with the kit thinking "I'll never need that!". Guess I could just use a normal muslin sock instead. This will be the only time I ever get lazy and just...

    Coopers FV & loose hops

Have got a Festival Razorback IPA on the go. Was a bit lazy / stretched for time / daft and just lobbed the hop pellets into the FV (would normally add in a muslin sock). I now have a seriously muddy looking beer with a thick hop head. So, what's the advice on bottling it? As the title...
