With you chaps , I’m starting to pine for the full malty ales , I want to brew an amazing ESB to reset my hop head tendencies. I’m going to revisit my Belgian favs As well. Digging out my old Michael Jackson books to reminisc. (the beer MJ before the comments start !). :laugh8:
Ain’t read much but the coopers Aussie pale ale is a fab can to tweak. Neutral , light in colour you can pimp it big style. Change the yeast or not Coopers yeasts ain’t bad if fresh. S05 for me though , gets me sorted on most styles.
Just had a new release by Garage v whiplash an ipa contains Sabro , am I the only one who thinks that this hop is similar to coconut scented suntan oil. I’m not a fan. I’m sure it takes great skill to get this from the hop but... please explain what I’m missing.
I met the lead brewer of Burning Sky & he spoke in depth about using oak barrels in some of their experiments. It was a fantastic talk & I wish you luck . You will have great fun no matter what happens & the knowledge you gain from it will be fab . Cheers & please share the journey / outcome !
Weird no answer from captain Dan ! Perhaps he is lost in his garage or found a fu**•¥ gateway to Narnia in there ? I found a three year old tripel I made the other day & the last couple of bottles of a rum n raisin stout finished on bourbon oak chips I tweaked from a kit 3 years ago ... & yes...
Simcoe single hop showcase by Vocation. Fantastic ! This hop is so full & rounded compared to the Citra release. Feels slightly bigger on the mouthfeel. Stone fruits really shine. Easy to drink at 6.7% , these guys really know how to brew.
