Thanks for the reply. That's what i've been using thus far but I am brewing bigger beers and need to ensure dissolved oxygen in the wort which a whirlpool paddle and drill can't achieve.
I'm looking to get a small oxygen tank to oxygenate my wort before pitching the yeast.
I have no idea what kind of kit I would need (beside the oxygen tank).
If anyone can send me some links to some kit for regulators, oxygenation wand etc, I would be really grateful.
I'm a customer of BOC so...
Hello,
I am looking to get a 3 phase power supply installed, so I can scale up to a commercial level of brewing, but I have no idea how much power I would need in terms of kVA.
I am going to be running two 8kw 3 phase elements but I am likely to scale this up to a couple of 18kw elements.
Can...
I am fermenting a saison using WY3724 at 32c but I actually experienced the 1.030 stall. A week after the stall, its started up again. The Dupont yeast strain supposedly do better when there is no pressure in the fermentation vessel i.e. open fermentation. The higher temp certainly didn't help...
I bought 1kg of Galaxy from Geterbrewed and I have been slightly underwhelmed by the hop. It seems to have a subdued fruit aroma/flavour but it leans more towards a spicy profile. Don't know if anyone else has had this.
I guess having to ship these hops half way around the world, in...
@Ciaran12s I am going nowhere near that supply! I've got an electrician coming over to take a look and quote to put a 3 phase meter in, wiring etc etc so it's still a bunch of work to do.
I have no experience with 3 phase so any recommendations, as to how it may be setup with outlets etc, would...
Great feedback! I was looking to run the three elements between 2 ring mains but I agree that it does seem to be pushing the limits and don't particularly want cables getting very hot within the walls.
Now looking into a small industrial unit with 3 phase.
3 phase elements look fun!

@Simonh82 The final batches will be about 160 to 170 litres. I was going to mount 3 x 3kw elements.
I did think about getting a higher powered feed or even 3 phase but I wanted to see if I could get everything working off normal power supplies.
Thanks @britton for the quick response. I am looking to mount them horizontally into a 250 litre stainless drum so was hoping to get something which would match the curve of the drum (as close as possible).
Cheers for the links though!
Hi all,
I just wanted to get some advice on where to get some curved heating elements like the following attached image.
Looking for 3kw elements.
Any advice appreciated.
