Last of the SAISON!
Boooooo!
Brewing another tomorrow..
Huzzah!

Pale Ale this time. Not as nice as the session IPA, mouthfeel isn’t as full and I’m guessing there’s less in it crystal too. Not getting much in the way of esters from the New England yeast, but I think that’s probably down to overconsumption on my part and a BBQ for dinner.

A couple of Galway bay pale ales, a couple of kinnegar IPA's, a pilsner urquel and I have my keg of NEIPA to get stuck into. Oh, and 4 big cans of a very tasty imp stout. I'm really in the mood to get pist tonight, lads! 👊😃
Me too😂
Although the ⚒️ are on at 1230

Next up, Ashover Victorian Ruby Mild. No idea who or what recipe this is (it just says based on a historical recipe). 7%. Ruby coloured, obviously, which is odd as most of the Victorian recipies I've read are pale. But I won't tell @peebee if you don't. :laugh8: :laugh8:

It's nice, quite licorice tasting; I wonder if it has #4 invert or similar? They also do a 1910 Porter, which is apparently based in a Ron Pattinsons recipe; I'll have to search that one out as well.

No sooner than I sat down I am back pouring another pale. I only gone and knocked my pint over and soaked the lounge carpet and coffee table. SWMBO was glad it wasn't a dark beer and enjoyed the smell. In fact after she cleaned it up she was at the kegerator pouting herself a pint.

Well you did didn't you. An' he ain't impressed! I suggest a rename: "Ashover Victorian Ruby Mind-the-gap".

Having a proper sample of my hefeweizen with orange zest today. Dry hopped with Hull Melon to see if I'd get any melon/strawberry flavour - none so far!

Primed to 4 volumes for lots of fluffy head that laces all the way down the glass. I fermented it on the cool side for more clove and less banana flavours, plenty of time for banana wheats once the summer weather kicks in.

Never been a big fan of the farmageddon stuff I always thought the beers lacked something including mouthfeel.

I’m having another of these - well mostly, excuse the head!

Just watched TOTP1990 and saw Vanilla Ice singing Ice Ice Baby. It only feels like maybe 15 years since I was dancing to that tune! 😲
I can imagine you busting some moves to that and “U can’t touch this “ after a few bottles of md 20/20.

I totally get where you’re coming from, and I’d point that finger squarely at the Gold, tonight is the first time I’ve tried it. Their style is big bold and bitter and I absolutely love the IPA. There’s a few hits and misses across the range.

Gutted that wasnt in mine! I get the dark and light beers box so they must have substituted it with a dark beer. Still, the stout which was from the same brewery, and the dubbel, were good
Im not keen on darks so i opted for lights. 1st box so far is very tasty. Got to slow down as it wont last the night let alone the weekend!
