However I have also left a plastic measuring jug in some VWP and it was ruined within an hour.

As soon as the brewzilla is empty i give it a good clean, dont let any thing dry out and it's a half hour job, clean rinse dry put away.

If so, stainless and chlorine don't play well with each other. It may be ok to give it a clean with vwp as long as you rinse everything well but I wouldn't leave it in contact for any length of time.
