I know most of us hate the cold in winter but for me the heat in summer is worse, you can easily keep warm in winter but its awful being stuck in a cab all day with no aircon and slow moving traffic in the lakes, 23c predicted for tomorrow. 
Its too hot.

I don’t think it is legal to drive in flip flops but if you get pulled over dressed as @Clint recommends I’m not sure that’s what they would nick you for.

It's all a state of mind, winter is easy just stick on more clothes, summer is a different kettle of fish. When it gets into the 40's C time to switch the mind off, convince yourself it's not that hot. 50's is different, the mind doesn't stop telling the body how fkn hot it is.
The bosses don't drive the trucks so I guess saving money buying the cheapest they can find is more important than employee comfort and most of the stuff we drive isn't new.

I too am a winter lover and not a fan of the heat. You could try a neck cooler under the collar of your shirt, I have found the bcb type to be fairly discreet. You could also wet your hair... Evaporation is your friend.
A few years ago I saw a seat cover with a fan in it. Never tried it, but might be worth a look.

Not much room for something that big and i am in and out a lot standard aircon would be great maybe the next vehicle will have it.

I don't mind the heat but how people lie in it on sand near some water is beyond me who in their right mind wants to look like a wrinkled dried prune at 60

Just over a week ago the night temperature reached a giddy 4C and I was camping, bloody freezing!

As a southerner living on the North East, I can say that getting too hot is not a problem here!

Here in Wisconsin, we can have temperatures as low as -32C in the winter and around 40C in the summer. As someone who runs outside year round, I much prefer running in the winter. You can dress for it. There's really nothing to be done at 40C other than keep the distance short. I feel for you Chippy if you are sitting in a hot truck.

I live in South-West Wales. Any day when it isn't piddling down with rain is a bonus! Summer last year was great. It was a Tuesday as I recall!
