i find stainless steel cable ties that lock on added to half a dozen shopping trolleys and door handles makes for great fun, for the other bloke

Not that anyone is actually serious here, you just have to make sure that the victim of an awl to the tires, WD40 to the windshield (or whatever else) for parking rudely/poorly was intentional and not simply an old person or someone who's incompetent. As far as I know, you don't have to park within the lines at a place of business. Almost everyone does but I don't think there are laws against parking wherever you feel like in a lot.
Some of the parking jobs I've seen are only explainable if the person was blind.

I beg to differ as here there are a lot of parking lots at retail parks who are managed by third parties and impose fines for parking like this or over staying your parking time which does vary.

Joking aside if you are that incompetent you shouldn't have a driving licence.

I am on the road all day and see some awful driving not all by older people but the majority is, I would be all for competency testing at 65 - 70 and I am not ageist as I am nearly there myself.

In a lot of paid parking if you cover two spaces even partially or with a trailer or caravan you have to pay for that space.

You should also bear in mind that when you see a car parked half over two parking spaces it might be because when they arrived other cars were badly parked so they had to park like this to fit in. And then the original cars have done their shopping and left leaving them looking like the guilty party.

If being old or incompetent causes someone to park in the manner shown in some of the examples shown then that person shouldn't be driving.
There may not be laws about parking between lines but car parks often have a notice with conditions of use. Those often say you must park in a marked space.

I was speaking only about the US. Fines and/or tows can be imposed if you park and are not a customer. But as far as how you park, lines are just there for order, not tickets.

It's a big problem here. I don't know about your tests, but ours are pretty easy, maybe too easy. Even someone I know who's older just got renewed. There is NO way I would let that person drive me. It's a miracle there aren't more collisions.

Agreed, as I was saying to Chippy, it's too easy to get a license to drive here, in my opinion.
Yeah, I forgot to insert "here," meaning "US" about my parking comment.

How can none of you know that buying an expensive and/or German car gives you the right to take up two spaces or a disabled designated space?

Also likely to ruin your day as I'm pretty sure it is illegal to do anything that would interfere with a drivers visibility.

To be honest i was joking like I am sure the suggestion of using a spike to burst tyres was.

My local supermarket car park is a magnet for poor parking. So I keep a bunch of these in my car and place them under the windscreen wipers of badly parked cars. My wife absolutely loves this game…

And your cars are much bigger than they need to be, it must be difficult to park them
I imagine parking the large vehicles requires additional practice. Roads and parking spaces accommodate the large vehicles. Many people get trucks/SUVs that are oversized for their needs but it's more of a type of person that does it, not everyone.

I would totally agree with you there and they don't have to be extremely wealthy people who look down their noses at others just downright ignorant.

A few years back, when we made our regular trip to the UK, I noted all of the available rental cars had sun roofs. It seemed to us those were for getting out after parking in the multi level parking garages... The spaces were barely big enough for the car... Let alone open the doors. (It's not just 'our cars' here that are too big.) cheers:
Here in the US, cities dictate how many spaces must serve a shopping center, but as the cars get bigger, the spaces can't without the property owner paying fines for not having enough spaces.
