Interesting question, I opted for bitter, which I have drunk for 30+ years, I do like pales and IPA's but for a beer to drink all evening, you can't beat a bitter. If only somebody still admitted to still brewing one!

I have voted Belgian beers but I like to brew and drink a wide variety.
I like bitter but a good English pale ale is hard to beat

I need to try to brew some English style beers. I have some EKG, fuggles, first gold and harlequin hops.
Hi Sam, get brewing with those hops ekg and fuggles hard to beat those
Pale ale for me, especially American (I'm afraid). But there's something about Sierra Nevada, Bell's two hearted and others of the style that really tickle my tastebuds.
Also your Helicopter, Cheshire Cat, is a firm favourite now.
Belgians are a close second but I'm not so good at brewing those!

I voted German as I'm drinking and brewing those at the moment. Sort of hard to answer though as Belgian and German encompass so many styles...

It's a tough choice but probably IPA, I don't like sours but I'd happily drink a good example of any of the others

Do you have a favourite brand/recipe? as I'm keen to do an English pale ale with the Fuggle hops I'm picking now.
Get a first gold and EKG pale going, pale malt, wheat and caramalt of some sort. Sorted.

I love a Belgian pale, I think they are similar in drink ability to English pale/bitter.
Pale Ales for me, English or American, that said I could drink a decent bitter all night.
If you want some recipes then have a look at wildabouthops.nz where there are lots of clone recipes for English ales using those hops. I have just had a go at their Guinness West Indies porter recipe. It is still bottle conditioning but first impressions are quite favourable.

A difficult one for the seasoned p1ssartist.
I really like a bitter..but,you don't get very many outstanding ones.

Thanks, looks brilliant. Never quite knew what style to use in Brewfather for a British pale ale, I see that is a Strong Bitter.
Likely to be my next brew (tweaked for local grains etc).
