It’s been 3 years since I last visited my daughter and grandkids in Curl Curl, NSW (just north of Sydney). She wants to get some cans of beer in for me (bless 😍) from the local bottlo which used to stock a good range of oz and nz beers. I like IPA hazy and clear. Any suggestions please so I can send her a shopping list and have a few nice beers ready for when I arrive :beer1:

Look at Stone and Rock- especially their Pacific Ale. But there are probably more I've never heard of.
Why not post your request here: Australia & New Zealand Homebrewing Forum

The only Sydney brewery I am familiar with is Young Henry's, I think the one An Ankou is referring to is Stone and Wood, they are in Byron Bay but their beer is popular around Australia, Pacific Ale and Cloud Catcher being popular.
There will be a lot more around Sydney so when you get there have a look around. But the two mentioned are well known, not only to the cockroaches but all over Australia. In fact I seem to recall Young Henry getting an award in the UK.

Saw your post on AHB An Ankoù not surprised you didn't get a reply, there are very few go on there. Australian Craft Brewing is where most have moved to, you would have got replies on that forum.

Thanks Foxy, I'll check out that forum.

Yep. It is stone and wood. Sorry about that. I'd been trying out last autumn's cider to see if it was any good. Seems to do the business.

Beginning to get some replies sin from the Au/NZ site and I've PMd them to @Buffers brewery . This one from Feldon is interesting, though, and I'm sure we'd all like to read the results of this:

An Ankou, looks like your mate from England might be line for an epic Sydney pub crawl to discover our best current offerings that suit his palate. Maybe let us know what he discovers. Would be interesting to hear an outsider's view on our beers.

Your daughters a very lucky lady Buffers. I was based at Wheldon Oval maintaining the areas reserves and sports fields. Lunch times were spent swimming at North Curlie to cool down. Great part of the world.
How about Four Pines beers?

Yes, I remember Four Pines. I think they started life down on Manly wharf?
Yes it is a nice part of the world. Currently pouring with rain and has been now for several weeks. As my old dad used to say "if your wet on the outside you might as well get wet on the inside!" :laugh8:

I hear that Sydney has had it's yearly rain quota already! So I hope you pack your drinking wellies.
Don't worry about the Koalas it's the Drop bears that will get you, tricky little blighters they come out of nowhere.

Well, she done good and got stocked up.

You must be jet-lagged, BB, if you only came back with 4! A little more effort next time, please. We don't want the Aussies to think we poms are a bunch of limp-wristed Nancy boys. 🤣🤣🤣🍺🍺🍺
