do you make any recipe adjustments forua the shorter boils?
Hi I write my recipes with the boil time in mind and just use my ibu calculator to generally determine my hop schedule.
So I do not use bittering hops anymore so that gives me the freedom to use more hops in my whirlpool.
I do more of a standard brew for bitters and ales with maybe 30 min additions and 15 and 10 too but no whirlpool on this type as a general rule

Just watched the David Heath video. I'm going to be polite here... There are some extremely 'brave' statements in that video presented as fact.

I prefer to refer to the advice modern maltsters give on boil times. I'm not going to comment on his section in hop timings, other that to say it doesn't tally with anything I have read. And boy, do I read.

I don't want to come across as being bitchy and negative, as I understand David is a bit marmite and divides opinion somewhat, but if you are new to brewing, please take the opinions (and historical 'facts') in that vid with a pinch of salt.

Amen.

Question everything and find what works for you. However, it is interesting how quickly, centuries of brewing practice and scientific research can get 'debunked' by a handful of homebrew bloggers, podcasters and youtubers.

Totally agree Sadfield too many of these Bloggers and Youtubers have hidden agendas that sway the way they put things across. Too many getting freebies to promote manufacturers goods but swear they are impartial.
Some started with good intentions but the have moved the way they present impartiality depending on what suits the product, very few true to the ideals they started with
