You'll need longer and narrower diameter tube to get a consistent pour without loads of foam unless your beer is very low vols.
But agree ball lock disconnect, 4 mm internal or 3mm internal tube and a picnic tap will get you going.
Much cheaper than a flow control tap, you can dangle the tap out of the fridge as well, flow control tap on ball lock you need to open fridge and lose cool air to pour a drink.

Agree with KGB don't get an Intertap unless you know where it has come from there are so many fakes on the market. Intertap and UltraTap from Keg King

A picnic tap will pour beer fine, I used one for years if its party time get a picnic pump that will save you having to cart a CO2 cylinder around.

If you want the Ultra Twist tap I believe Malt Miller has them and there is more on the way. You can get the 90 degree stainless disconnect and adapter or just the plastic one.

If you have a look around you may find a Vent Matic Faucet even with a second hand unit you won't beat it in quality and pour.
Up to you, everything will work what has been mentioned, just depends what suits your wallet.

Hi
I need a faucet for a corny keg I've just bought. There seem to be a few to choose from. Is there much difference in quality between brands. Any recommendations. I'm looking to attach it straight onto the disconnect.
Thanks in advance.
This is what you need - Picnic Tap 2.0
I think you would enjoy its review on Bitter Reality Brewing YouTube channel.

It's the only Tap in the world that:
Does not need a disconnect.
Does not require beer line.
Does not drip.
Does not need drip tray.
Does not have huge thermal mass.
Does not foam wastefully at 15 psi.
Does not discharge inadvertently.
Does not break unexpectedly.
Does not use key components from China.
Is handcrafted and individually tested in California.
Is great for growlers, cornies or Sankey.
Perfect for serving at parties or monthly homebrew club meetings, bringing to picnic, tailgate or the outback...
There is nothing like it until now.
The Mother of All Taps.

this looks interesting. I currently use the party tap with two widths of line but I’ve found the tap bit doesn't last last more than a year before breaking.

Would that faucet you’ve linked work well for highly carbonated beer, say 2.6 and above?

I don't carbonate my beers so high but they are used in a lot of bars Micromatic has them in their range so they must be good.
@homebrewer lab where can you buy it?
I just watched the video, I have that picnic tap. I got it off Trong Nguyen, I brewed a beer with him once. Brewed the beer on the Monday and were drinking it on the Saturday! Lovely bloke, very clever though his beer making skills need some attention. He made the Spundit, he has made a lot of stuff since he retired. He sells on eBay 'Trongo'

Thanks for all the replies. Crikey, Didn’t think it would be so hard to choose!

Thinking about going for the above.

£45. Is this a wise choice at an OK price?
Its what you can afford, the price you mention is far dearer than I would pay for a tap. I have used all the ones mentioned. There is no difference in the laminar flow which is noticeable. The only thing I don't like about the Nuka tap is the plastic spindles, you may not remember the 1,000,000 pulls the robot did with the Intertap video. But 1,000,000 pulls would take a tap into in excess of 30 years drinking without a change of seals or 'O' rings.

Hi,
Coming soon on Kickstarter. But you can get early adopter version from Homenrewer LAB FB store or email [email protected]. Have shipped to many early adopters in the UK. International shipping is $15 USD for 8 oz which is good for up to 3 units because they are very light/compact.
Judging from the interest and comments from over 500 early adopters worldwide, we predict that within 12 months 10% of ALL homebrewers will have at least one. The long and short of it is, if you brew or drink beer from a something other than bottles, you can benefit from it one way or another.
It's simply the best tap for ANY pressure growlers and Heineken 5L keg or similar 5L kegs with build-in CO2 canister.

Ouch!

My first thought was:

“How much HomeBrew would I have to not leave behind if I spent €42.95 on having a Flotit2 delivered?”

I have 3 kegs on the go so …. ❓❓

Sorry, but I will have to give them a miss until the price drops considerably from the current $27.95 plus $15 delivery!
:hat:
