I’m going to put my old brew system up for sale, it’s a 30l Burco boiler with a PID controller and a pump for recirculating, a BIAB bag and an immersion chiller. I did sparging like this, a bucket with holes in the bottom and a wire fridge shelf (also included).

Im based in north London if you want to come and check it out, it’s all just taking up room in my shed so open to offers around £100-150!

Here’s it all set up, the white Pico boiler and the hose pipes aren’t included as I still use them.

I use a hybrid.
Grain is mashed in a bag in my boiler using about 2/3 liquid.

Then I drain into FV and sparge (grain in bag) with water from the kitchen kettle.
Fill 2/3 & boil, then top up with cold to get to approx temperature.
I also recirculate using a jug while waiting for the next kettle full to boil 😄
Many thanks to you all for the sound and intuitive advise.

I’ve taken the plunge and bought a Klarstein Mash Boiler (see photo) it’ll take 30ltrs but i’m only kegging at 19ltrs so the boiler is more than adequate for my needs.

I’ve also taken the plunge and ordered my 1st “All Grain” kit from GetErBrewed, only just ordered yesterday so hasn’t arrived yet, but it’s a Double NEIPA with Maris Otter Pale Ale / Malted Naked Oats / Torrefied Wheat / Cara Gold Malt / Flaked Torrefied Oats and Galaxy / Citra / El Dorado Hops with a Verdant IPA Yeast. I’ve ordered the Mash Bag also so now i’m super excited to get cracking.

I’ll keep you posted as it goes once i get all set up and start the brew.
