That does beg the question who are the first raters in the Tory party?
And why have none of them stepped forward for this battle?
Because the Convict and his pals deselected them or drove them out - David Gauk, Anna Soubry, Ken Clarke, Rory Stewart, Dominic Grieve to name but a few. Johnson filled his government with clueless nonentities so none of them would eclipse him. Added to that he only wanted Brexiters, which in itself restricts the choices to the seriously stupid.

Haha what a joke.

Mind you, probably a good idea, none of them came across well in the last one I didn't think.

It's just shameless - not wanting to be asked questions cos you always look bad with your answer!

If one of them win PMQ should be a giggle.

Oh, how I agree!

Apart from a General Election (or Boris clinging on to power?) one of them has to win!

I’m no Royalist but, apart from everything else going on, this is no way to treat a 90 year old Monarch! The Queen must think she’s walked into a bizarre form of “Hokey Cokey”where the Conservatives “Put a PM in, take a PM out, …. etc.”
clapaclapa

Roll on PMQ’s!
:D:D

Liz Truss has narrowed the gap with Tory leadership rival Penny Mordaunt, as they battle to secure a place in the run-off vote among members.
Frontrunner Rishi Sunak again topped the latest MPs' ballot with 118 votes, whilst Kemi Badenoch came last with 59 and was knocked out.
Ms Mordaunt came second with 92, only six votes ahead of Ms Truss with 86.
The three remaining candidates face a further vote on Wednesday to decide who will make the final two.
Voting will then be thrown open to 160,00 Conservative Party members to pick the winner, who will replace Boris Johnson as prime minister on 5 September.
Contenders need to bag 119 votes from Tory MPs to get into the run-off, suggesting former chancellor Mr Sunak is likely to secure a place in the final two.

The placings haven't changed but a close look at the numbers tells us how unpredictable this contest is.
Thirty one votes were up for grabs from Tom Tugendghat's supporters after he was eliminated in the last round.
It's clear they haven't moved as a block as all the candidates have gained votes.
Liz Truss has kept up her momentum but not enough to leapfrog Penny Mordaunt who picked up enough votes to stay in second.
Rishi Sunak only gained three votes, showing that while he's been in front from the start it's not a runaway lead.
It's a very tight race and at this point, impossible to call.

Interesting that Truss is now the favourite
If that's the case you are in deep tish. I would prefer to let the best entrepreneurs run the country for three years. Yes they will make money on the side but the economy might get sorted. By the way your best businessmen aren't the privileged few. They are the ones who got off their arses and made their money.

I wish that was true but unfortunately a lot of them (particularly those in the Conservative party) start from a position of wealth that gives them a significant advantage over the rest of the population.

There are obviously exceptions, and they rightly should be lauded for their successes, however this shouldn't come at the expense of those who are less fortunate.

There are a few who are less fortunate. But there are more who think that success is for a select few when it is there for everyone, but one has to be prepared to get off their **** and work for it.

You're right that you have to be prepared to work hard for success. But it definitely helps a lot if you can afford a private and/or university education, your family moves in circles where doors are already half-open for you and you have pre-existing wealth that makes financial risks less of a gamble.
