Wilko yeast nutrient is described on the website as "An active and vigorous fermentation is essential with winemaking and our Yeast Nutrient will ensure that your wine yeast has all of the necessary nutrients and minerals needed to ferment your wine to completion"

Am I right in thinking this would be OK with beer yeast ?

Unless you're brewing a really high gravity beer, then you don't need yeast nutrient for brewing beer. The wort is a yeast nutrient itself so contains all the chemicals needed.

You wouldn't need it for wine if you pressed your own grapes & included pulp & skins.

But it's essential for wines made from fruit juice & majority of country (fruit/veg derrived) homebrew as these can be very low in some of the trace elements the yeast needs.
