Just learned that Kelham Island brewery closed down in May this year, what a shame, they produced one of my all time favourite beers Pale Rider. I know a lot of recipes are available somewhere online does anyone know if this one is? When I eventually move up to all grain brewing I would like to try this, I believe it won many awards. Can't help wondering what went wrong.

Sorry to hear that. I used to like Pale Rider, too, although I could only ever get it beer festivals.
In fact I named one of my favourite beers with Pale Rider in mind. It's called Naked Rider and is hopped with Godiva.

I once took the last pint from the keg at a local pub and if look’s could kill from the line of chaps behind me I’d be six foot under it was a very popular beer and sold out very quickly.

I’m shocked. Kelham Island made some cracking beers, Pale Rider was certainly ahead of the game with American style hop-bomb IPAs. Many a happy hour or several spent in the Fat Cat. Thought the brewery was there forever with its own pub across the beer garden.

The Thornbridge version came in this month's Thornbridge Beer Club.

As good as I remember, the bottled version at least, but will have been a good while since I had the Kelham Island one.
