I've just made 5L of wow (gits, I only joined this forum for cider advice & now look what ya got me doin!) & now I'm prepping to do a gallon of firey ginger beer (ingredience waiting).
Quick question..... can I grate the ginger root or does it need to be sliced?

its up to you really.. some people preffer it sliced.. some grated. .or other various methods.. like it being ground.. but.. just try different ways for each batch and see how it goes! :)

I did both, well, I started grating it & got bored.
It's bubbling like crazy on top of the fridge but only half as much as the wow next to it.

It's mental mate, 2 bloops a second! The ginger isn't far behind though.
When do I top up the dj cos it hasn't foamed up at all. Same question for the wow.

If it hasn't frothed up I try top it up in stages. After three or four days of it looks like it won't froth I top it up about an inch and a half closer to the top then after another day or so top it up a bit more if it's still clear.
