Just my thoughts, but this beer should have it's own thread!

Made up a 23lt batch on the advice of PD, & the glowing reports of so many others.Glad I did.

I'm no pro-don't think I'm into 3 figures of AG brews yet. I've made a lot of beer that I'll happily drink myself,a fair bit that I am happy to share with others, but only 5 batches that I am truly proud of & this is one of them (the other 4- Galaxy SMASH,tweaked Liquid Gold recipe,GW's Autumn Glory & Old Peculier)

IBU was a bit higher than I normally go for-I tend to stick around the mid 30's. Only had a couple of weeks in the barrel but in great condition already-another couple & it will be stunning.

Thanks Wez for posting the recipe & thanks PD for recommending. Thanks to the original poster (google Big Kenny-sad story)-a very fine tribute indeed.

Glad you enjoyed it BJ, as you say its a fine tribute and a bloody lovely drink. My last brew of it was probably the most enjoyable drink I have made since I started home brewing, a view shared by my drinking pal ( my son )
Its a firm favorite now and if it wasn't for our search for adventure ( ha ) and wanting to try different beers it could very easily be our one and only house beer.
If you like your pints strong dark and meaty give it a go. I don't think you will be disappointed.

So pleased that this is still getting brewed and enjoyed :thumb:

I'm not surprised it remains popular, t is a good pint Wez :thumb:

In fact I have some scottish ale yeast so maybe I should get one on to try the yeast out.

I'm drinking it as I type! It's my favourite brew and one that can be drunk as soon as its clear ( maybe that's true of all my brews  )
Tim
