Lovely Santander, even though they know it was fraud as it started with a £1 then ramped up, will be charging her for going overdrawn

I'd challenge that, surely they can't charge you for going overdrawn if you actually didn't :wha:

but she did go overdrawn! Because she only had approx £150 in her account, end of the month  , the £400 going put her account overdrawn
But I have been on the WHICH web site and it would appear that Santander will have to refund it as long as they can't prove we have been negligent
It's just more hassle we could have done with out

I suppose my point is that she didn't spend it, it was due to fraudulent activity. Most banks state that they won't charge overdraft fees if this is the case. Try walking into a branch to ask, you'll likely do better than ' computer says no ' in the call centre.

When I was with the abbey they had a glitch in the system ( their words!) which resulted in me getting a £200 overdraft and that was the same time I was waiting on my bonus, so I glanced the money available and thought, yeeha spending spree, wages plus bonus are in, next month half my wages were missing, so I took a wee trip into the bank to find out what had happened, like I mentioned before they had a glitch in the system which had authorised an overdraft and they had taken it back, fair enough, plus a charge for unauthorised use of an overdraft and a months worth of daily charges for being overdrawn, not so fair !! and they would not budge on it, no letter by the way during that time to explain THEIR mistake. Anyway not with them now lol.
