I've not done enough AG brews yet to have a favourite, although my first AG (EKG/Fuggles bitter) is tasting very nice, but my favourite kit i would have to say, is Woodfordes Wherry, kegged, not bottled, its a nice pint.

All Grain Caledonian Porter for me .It's going down a treat the combination of chocolate and amber malt is sublime ,and the wheat malt gives good head retention which I like .You can't beat a nice head
Wish I brewed a double batch now as my brother is giving it a hammering !"

The best brew i have done was a scottish heavy recipe but unfortunatly i cant remember the recipe ,it was on my tablet which broke and needed replaced so from now on i keep a paper copy and a digital copy of any recipe i brew.

My best brew so far is my current drinking Enlgish Bitter called Badger Bitter #1. Its named after the brewdog that hung around the most during brewing and probably contributed some loose fur to the fermenter.

4150 g Maris Otter
500 g medium crystal malt
75g Fuggles start of boil (in bag)
15g Fuggles last 15min
Irish moss last 15 min
Brewed to 1043 OG
British ale yeast wlp005 from starter

Bottle conditioned and tasting very very good. I have only one bottle left but am planning on brewing another batch of something similar this weekend.

My previous best was a bitter brewed several years ago before I drifted away from home brewing. It was completed with a poorer collection of equipment by myself and an assistant brewer that got progressively drunker as the day wore on until in the end we were trying to seive the hops from the wort at the end of the boil with various kitchen sieves, under an outdoor security light with every flying bug in the area converging upon us. How it turned out so good I dont know. Never to be repeated.

I've only ever brewed beer from kits but 2 that stand out from years ago were Dogbolter and a dark beer I made from an Ironmaster kit, If pushed then the Dogbolter edge's it for me.

Oatmeal stout. It's the Graham Wheeler Guinness with the addition of porridge oats. It's the first brew I've done that I'm really keen to repeat (although I am going to use different yeast).

My favourite so far was an Australian Pale Ale.
Maris Otter
Nugget for bittering
Challenger and galaxy for flavour
then loads of late galaxy for aroma
dry hopped with more galaxy.

My god it was good. I need to do another one in time for Christmas.

I'm starting the realise this question is like asking what is your favourite food. I'm not asking that though before the pie and chips and cake answers start appearing.

There is some commonality in that pale ales are mentioned a few times, there is a lot of advocacy for all grain.

Thank you all so far and thanks for the links to recipes.

Sometimes I brew something good and claim it "best I've ever made", until next such brew. Funny that rebrews are not up to original versions usually, with exception of GW London Porter.

Having gone through a bit of a brewing frenzy over the past 6 weeks having made 5 kits lat night I tried a bit of a Bavarian Weissbier which is still in the FV. This was made from an extract wheat beer kit I bought off Brew UK. Despite having a few issues with the yeast and getting the wort to cool the taste was impressive with great balance between the smoothness of wheat beer and aromatics.

Even though I won't bottle it until Sunday if this beer improves as I hope it will, and its drinkable within 3 weeks, this will be by far the best beer I've brewed to date.
