Its the one on the left. Other one is my ginger beer. I was wonder ing if there was any advantage to popping it in the shed for a few days, or just bottling it now? I see some people put lagers at low temps for a bit before bottling? Others dont, just wondered what the advantage was?

Also started printing my labels off...

Not as elaborate as some on here, but happy with them!

Sorry I can't answer your question about bottling, as I'm not yet experienced enough - but I've a question of my own, how did you get the SG so high on the Coopers lager kit (I think these target about 4% and yours is about 6.5%?)

I did the Coopers Australian Blonde today with 1kg of brewing sugar and 500g of light spraymalt, I was hoping the extra fermentables would give it an extra kick, but despite the fact it hasn't started fermenting yet there seems to be undissolved sediment at the bottom of the fv :? - I've tried stirring it a few times to try get it all dissolved but it keeps settling again. I've been assuming that I put too much fermentables in it until I seen your post (after all my SG was only about 1045 including the 500g of extras).

No I would put it somewhere cool and let it drop a bit clearer. It should be as clear going into the bottle/keg as you want it coming out. :thumb:

I've got a Coopers European fermenting at the moment. I have done nothing but read up about what to do following the primary fermentation, so am interested to find out what you do with yours.

I am currently fermenting in my conservatory, at about 12 degrees. I believe after this it should be brought up to 18 degrees for a couple of days before racking into a secondary. I'm then going to place in a fridge for a couple of weeks to crash cool it, which should help to clear the lager. Then onto bottling!

I am a complete novice, but this is what I've found out from my research! I'm sure if it's wrong someone will be able to correct me!!

All the best

Plus 1.

The high sg is down to me not reading packets right. I wanted a boost so i added 2x500g packs of extra light spray malt, the kit says 1kg brewing sugar. But then i read elsm is not equal to bs, so added a 500g pack of brew enhancer. Which turned out to be 1kg. Hence high sg. It comes out at 6.6%.

The kit started 19/12/13 and i racked it to another fv 01/01/14, and now it looks pretty clear...

But heard putting a brew out in the cold for a while will help it clear more. But can it get much clearer?

I'd assume 2kg of fermentables would make it harder to clear  I've a Coopers Cerveza bottled for about 9 days and it's crystal clear now, you can see everything right through the bottle in a golden shade. That SG was about 1.035 though and it did take it a few days in the bottles before it got to about the same clearness of your Euro lager.

So stick it in the shed for 5 days or so, then bottle? Is it best to bring it up to room temp to bottle? Will be batch priming my bottling bucket and siphoning into that.
No need to he at room temp when bottling. :thumb:

I would put in the cold for a week I think I would like to see what is behind the glass in the photo.

Perhaps the spotlight was deceiving the picture. Still I would put it in the shed for a few more days probably only take 2 or 3. If you can put it on a cold concrete floor even better. :thumb:

I can't see anything through the beer that is the point I don't think it is clear enough to bottle. :thumb:

Definitely not clear enough

I have 3 carboys of this beer in shed and one I put out today has just had a bubble or two while I was boxing some bottles up

It never moved in the house for the last 3 days so hope all is ok
