In order to improve my knowledge of beer styles I was hoping to get some recommendations from other forum members. I would like to know what you think is the archetype of a particular style of beer, although not nessecarily your favourite.
I plan on trying the first beer recommended for each style so if possible please let me know where I can get it from and also try and keep it to beers available in the supermarket (although I am based near Bristol so local suggestions welcome).
I'm hoping I will get an idea of a good standard to aim towards when brewing and can then tweak recipes to my taste. Also I'm looking forward to 'researching' some great beers.
