They are good, yeah.

Beer-butt chicken, nice. I did one with a can of cider once and it was bloody lovely.

You ever tried Dr Pepper slow cooker pulled pork? Tastes great (even works with Diet Dr Pepper to cut out the sugar!)

I have and it was very good. Try ginger beer as well, you can bung a load of thyme, chillies and allspice I there too, to give it a bit of a Jamaican feel.

another fan of cola chicken and pork - but if you fancy something a bit different try ginger beer and chicken with stir fry veg - its yummy!

I've heard this about boiling joints of bacon in coke or diet coke from more than one person, I just can't bring myself to do it. The only fizzy drink I have is beer, I've steered clear of the coke's and pepsi's and all the rest of them for years now, boiling the bacon in coke, Mum would be turning in her grave, God rest her soul.

I was about to hoy this down the drain after no action for a week, but added another sachet of yeast and gave it a stir... now gone from 1.045 to 1.035

Don't know why it's so slow though, it's a balmy 24deg in the cupboard it's in 😎

Gave up and chucked it, bit of a mystery why it didn't get going, no preservatives and temp was good 😯

The only one i ever threw was Ribena, as one old member once said "the best place for Ribena is on the supermarket shelf"

I'm guessing it's far too acidic for the yeast, Cola is a lot of sugar balanced with a lot of phosphoric acid to keep it paletable. Starsan is also phosphoric acid but about 1/10 the concentration but still plenty to kill off yeast so there's no way Cola will ferment unless you raise the pH which would probably ruin the flavour.
