I just ordered from them a custom grain kit to make Greg Hughes' Witbier, their Raspberry Wheat Beer AG kit and their 10L Wort Chiller.

I expect there to be no problems, as I've not had any before...

after a minor issue with the wrong colour caps being sent out and the agreed substitute yeast being under weight i have been pleasently surprised by a phone call to inform me that the right colour caps and the original yeast that i ordered were on theyre way to me and that as it was a clerical error that it was sent for free to honour the original order !:thumb:

After getting through on the phone before ordering i must have asked about 100 questions and was guided as to what was worth buying and what the unbranded versions of things were - often being cheaper but ultimately vetter value for me - not what i was expecting

As a first time buyer from Get er brewed i can safely say that they will be getting my custom again and again with customer service like that - good prices along with quick dispatch and outstanding customer service means i will be recommending them to a few mates that do home brewing aswell - well done guys n gals

ps im normaly a realist/cynic and praise like this is earnt - and hard earnt at that

My custom grain kits arrived on Wednesday. I wasn't impressed by the box they came in, which was gaping open, but was very pleased with the way the grain, hops and yeast were packaged up. Very clearly labelled and everything there.

Greg Hughes American Wheat brew afternoon tomorrow, then DIY Dog Santa Paws in late September.

I'm not sure that I'm impressed with the grain packaging, I've had two orders now where the bag has split in transit and spilled into the box.

Got another one today where I've lost more than half of a 5kg bag of lager malt. Just emailed them so we'll see what happens.

They seem not to check their emails very often. Contact them by Facebook messenger and they usually get back very quickly. Last time I contacted them this way they got back to me in a few minutes

Actually Deborah from the company has already responded and asked to see some pictures.

I'm glad I didn't chuck out the evidence, I was tempted to as I don't want to encourage mice!

I had the same problem with a box from HBC, had a couple of items missing because the box was open

This has been brought up before but have a specific question. @myqul you said you really like their malts as they are cheap yet good. I'm about to buy some lager/pilsner malt from them and am wondering if I should get their cheapo sack of lager or spend a few extra Euros and get Chateaux pilsner malt? The latter says no step mashing is required but IIRC no UK (and I assume Irish) lager malt requires step mashes either? Also DMS isn't a big issue with modern lager malts either.

Never used the lager but the chateau pilsner malt is good made some good beers with it

I've used the Chateau pilsner, the Weyermanns pilsner and the cheapo lager malt and had good results with all of them without step mashing. The only pils malt which would definitely benefit from step mashing is the Weyermanns floor malted pilsner because it is less modified than most. Also don't concern yourself with DMS, I used pils malt in a weisse which was boiled for only 15 mins and there was no DMS flavour.

Thanks for the reply, I might stick with the cheapo lager malt for now then.

All their cheapo £1/1kg irish malts aregreat. I used all of the base malts(lager/pale/stout) and the beers have come out fantastic. As steve says, no step mashing required
