Hi,

Just started a wilko fruity pinot grigio 30 bottle wine kit. It was two years past its use by date. It tasted and smelled ok so it should be alright. I also added my own fresh yeast and nutrient and chucked away everything that came with the kit.

Has anyone used kits this much past their use by date?

I will report back when its done. It will be a while though because im planning on adding nothing more than campden tablets when I rack the wine and letting it clear naturally.

It will be fine. So long as the can wasn't compromised. And you did the right thing by using your own fresher yeast.

Well its been a couple of months now since I started the 2 year out of date wine kit from wilko and it has turned out alright. At first I didnt like the taste but after leaving another month or so it has turned out alright and drinkable.
