Hi,

Has anyone ever made a wine using apple juice from cartons and fresh blackberries. I was thinking of using 2lb of blackberries and adding apple juice instead of water.
If anyone has tried it, how did it turn out?

I find myself in the same boat as you were in April. I have be collecting Blackberries (Brambles up here) and Elderberries. I have some 25lb of fruit. Wondering whether to add apple juice from Aldi rather than water to retain more of a fruity taste. Also cant decide whether to brew them separately or together as a mixed batch. Was thinking using 4lb per gallon. How did you get on with your brew.

Hi,

Iv'e been making blackberry wine for the past 3 years. This will be the fourth year as I made my first batch in 2013. It has been the best wine that Iv'e made so far. You can't beat the anticipation of waiting months and months waiting for the wine to mature and be at its best.

I normally use 4lb pf blackberries to make 1 gallon of wine but because I was planning on making Apple and blackberry wine, I thought it would be best to half the blackberries so hopefully it wont just taste like blackberry wine and the apple can be tasted as well.

Haven't made any yet. I am making a couple of batches of blackberry first and then hopefully a couple of batches of apple and blackberry. Just wondered if anyone else has made it in this way before to give some advice.
 
I might do half apple juice and half red grape juice 😀

Tried it and it turned out nice. Apple wine is nice as well using cartons of apple juice.
