Courtesy of a certain Ozzie brewer...
Its been a month in the bottle and looks like ditch water.
Taste wise it seems OK at first and then has an unpleasant TWANG.
Nice hoppy profile tho, but nothing like Sierra Nevada.
I can only guess that in Oz when your throat is parched you will drink anything.!!
So will I brew it again?? Well, Ive got a shed load of hops left over so maybe, but with some minor tweaks to the recipe and brew process.
I know a few of you forumites were interested in this recipe, so beware.
There you go, I won't post a pic of the brew, its too embarrassing. Probably my worst brew in 40 years...cheers!

I think the problem lies with the DME not being boiled but just lobbed into the FV. Just my guess.

You don't need to boil DME, I use it straight into the FV all the time.

As it was half grain, how long did it take to cool? I don't do grain brews in the summer because of the increased cooling time and thus risk of infection.

Im guessing because it was topped up to 20 odd litres so cooling was quick. Its also possible that it needs a lot longer to mature and Im an impatient so and so.
It's not infected...just got a horrible after taste, tho it is getting better(?)
