Has anyone tried making jam wine. Jam is cheap and it would be easier than picking fruit. Just wondered if they turn out as good as wine from fresh fruits.

I found this in the forum from wuite a number of years ago -

I love a bit of jam in my wine.

My favorites at the moment are the Grandessa conserves from Aldi at 95p for a half kilo pot. I dont know if they have preservatives or not, but I simmer them for ten minutes anyway to be safe and I have never had a problem.

One of my staple wines is Tea n Jam.

20 Twinnings Blackcurrent Teabags + 2 yorkshire teabags
1 pot of Sour Cherry Grandessa conserve
800g sugar
2 litres RGJ
1 teaspoon; pectolase, glycerin
1/2 teaspoon; citric acid, nutrient

Comes out as a light fruity red.
