I am a member on there too and there are some great people on there as well as here lets not forget. I prefer the layout of this site and I don't have enough free time to be active on both forums. (would cut into my brewing time )

Clibit's avatar was the best....

darth vader wielding a hydrometer over a sack of grain. Anyone who's into brewing likes to knock up a brew has to be a tidy sort by default in my eyes :thumb:

I'm on their too (no 2 of the 3 I am on), and fairly active. I see no harm in been on multiple fora, so long as you don't start trying to play them off against each other (actually had that happen to a forum I ran once (nothing to do with brewing)).

End of the day, this is the internet. Just like real life you are going to bump into people who you don't like, and who don't like you, only on the internet people hide behind anonymity and become emboldened. That's just the way it is. You don't have to like it (I certainly don't), but I can't see it changing any time soon sadly. It's why I prefer a forum to an FB group, they tend to be better moderated and structured, so tend to be a little less prone to trolling.

Like others, I hope that nobody leaves. But if anybody is making things personal, then I would merely ask that they reconsider, for their own good as well as others. It's the internet, it's never personal, even when somebody tries to make it personal.

This, from a lefty who considers been called a special snowflake as a compliment.:tongue:

Good to know. Hope you will come to my micropub/brewery if it gets planning.
Cheers

Naturally Simon. Ill pop in and help you knock the place into shape if you need any help.

Good to know that Dutto may well be sticking around in the long term. If there's anything I've learned, over a decade of forum-ing, is that you have to take the rough with the smooth. You also must expect that you'll see more a lot more of both than you would down the pub....because you don't generally hang out with the world and his wife down the pub.

I also learned that sometimes I'm not always as 'smooth' as I'd hope - or even right.

Having said all of that, and inherently I'm leaping to an unreasonable assumption here, I often use 'ready to have a pint with' as a simple rule of thumb about a person. Dutto strikes me as someone who it would be quite a nice idea to have a pint with.

Hi!
I was on a bus once that passed a row of shops: a pizza takeaway, a bookies, an off licence and a chippy.
Everything a single young man could need .
