What I really want to know is, has @Bigcol49 watched the NFC Championship game yet? :laugh2::loser:

I try to always get the Monday off after the Super Bowl so I can stay up and watch the game. This year I'm still on parental leave so my wife has taken the day off so I can recover! Last year I brewed during the game but as an Eagles fan I'll be giving it my undivided attention this time around. How many other NFL fans are on here and will you be staying up? Will you be solo like me, a few mates or a big party?

I'm a new watcher of NFL. I'd never really paid any attention to it before, dismissing it as slow and too ad strewn. I happened on a game a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it.

Watched the patriots game last night, thought the jags were in with a shout until the second half.

I wouldn't go as far as say I'm a fan yet, and obviously don't have a favourite team. I'll record the super bowl though.

Use to really enjoy American football back in the day when C4 first started showing it. It use to be screened at a time which coincided, accidentally i would imagine, with us getting back home from watching our local rugby league team. Trying to remember without googling of a few names. Marino, Elway, Refrigerator (cant remember real name), Paynton???. Main teams seemed to be Redskins, Cowboys, Dolphins, 49ers off the top of my head.

Refrigerator (cant remember real name), Paynton???.

William Perry was Refrigerator's real name and based on the era I think you must be thinking of Walter Payton.

I have very real doubts that the Eagles can play that well again in two weeks, but what a performance last night.
Hi!
The Pats looked very good, although I think they were given a run for their money by the Jags - that Fournette is outstanding.
It should be a good Superbowl.

Yes, he has. :thumbd:

Thank goodness for that. I just daren't post a comment 'cos I didn't know any way of saying "Oh ****! That's every one of the teams I supported knocked out of the Super Bowl!" A complete disaster for me that started with The Texans not even getting to the Play-offs!

I also can't see the Eagles playing well enough and fully expect that the Pats will walk all over them. Add on to that the fact that on GamePass the Kick-Off starts at 11.30pm and it looks like I will be pulling nn All-Nighter just in the hope that I am proved wrong!

I guess that the good news is that the ProBowl this coming Sunday kick of at 8pm so I should be in bed by my normal time of 3am!

Go Eagles? Go Eagles. GO EAGLES! GO EAGLES! ... please!:thumb:

The match I thought was incredible was the Jags Steelers match.
Had me on the edge of my seat till the final whistle.

Hi!
I have to work until midnight every Sunday evening so I can only watch recordings. Fortunately, I don't work on Monday so I can watch then - 30 sec jump forward is a Godsend!

................ - 30 sec jump forward is a Godsend!

Especially for Saints fans who wish to miss the last 30 seconds against the Vikings! :thumb:I had GamePass which allows me to watch 99% of the games live or the day after I get the option of watching games "as broadcast" or compressed to 40 minutes which is also a Godsend; especially if you know the result!:thumb:

Hi!
Squiffleduffing - the venerable sport of taking the Mickey out of folk from Lancashire.

I could be insulted except I was born in Leeds. I'm starting to fit in in Lancashire now I've been here for over 50 years. I love the way the yanks have their own sports so they can always be world champions.

They have the sports because they like them, calling the winners the world champions just gives it a bit of gravitas I guess and for the most part the sports are played to their highest level in the states. In American Football certainly nobody anywhere else would be able to beat them. In basketball, baseball and ice hockey that may not be the case.
