Hi All,

Ive just made 2 brews and would like a spot of advice on whether I should hop the beer or leave it alone, just to condition.
My first brew was
1x wilko brown ale can
1x 1.5kg tin amber extract
1kg sugar

resulting in a fg of 1013as measured today.

My second brew was
1 x hoppy copper bitter
1x 1.5 tin amber extract
1 x 500g honey
1kg sugar.

resulting in a fg of 1015 measured today

No hops have been used in any of the beers yet.

both beers have been fermenting for 3 weeks and taste really nice .

My question is should I secondary for 1 week and teabag hop both beers or should I just go ahead and bottle as they are.

Many thanks

and look forward to some good advice.

What Tea bag hops have you got?

I would suggest doing a hop tea and adding it to the bitter.

After 3 weeks the only reason to rack over to a secondary FV would be if you want to make sure the beer turns out clear as a priority.

As hop teas often make it a bit cloudy anyway, due to the suspension of fine particles, maybe just add the hop tea and bottle from primary.

Hi Slid,
My te bag hops I have are goldings Amarillo and cascade and summit, would any of these be any use do you think ?

Also how long should I add the tea bags for I was thinking about 5 days .

The Summit Cascade and Amarillo belong in a US IPA sort of a beer, which I've not made myself. The Wilko kits look expensive to me now @ £12 for 1.5kg, but if you are interested in another kit beer, then brewing with two of the Golden Ale or Lager kits will be a useful start to add the dry hops to.
