Starting off with a curio for my recent booze cruise, a grapefruit rose wine. Didn't know what to expect for this, but actually it's rather good, and deceptively drinkable.

Unusual, but certainly not unpleasant. Things could get messy tonight.

The very last 500ml of my Smoked Porter bottled on 29 July. Still very smokey taste and very distinctive. I will not be making another any time soon, but it was interesting experiment. Used a full 1kg of smoked malt and maybe 500g would have been enough!

A Czech black lager, it’s a strange one.

I did a smoked dark saison and used 500g smoked malt for a 20 litres batch and thought 500g wasn't enough. Could 750g be the answer?

I had a pint of speckled hen earlier. My god that was horrible. I cant tell if i really dislike this style of beer or it was rank or both. If that was all i could brew my kit would of been out the window long ago.

Cascade/Mosaic/Simcoe IPA. Forgot i brewed it and just found 2 crates in the airing cupboard.

That’s like finding £20 in a pair of jeans from the back of the wardrobe!

that used to be one of my faves, (but only when the alternative was fosters, carling, john smiths). I wonder about the bottled version in a clear glass. it is going to get lightstruck, unless there are no hops in there in the first place... or there are some additives to stop this. Either way morlands beer's have not been in my supermarket shop for years!

The bottled stuff is bland but at least has no off flavours. Honestly i seem to remember was not a bad beer years ago. Could be wrong though. I have noticed the Adnams in Norfolk can differ from being pretty good to not very nice at all but this was something else. They might use extract instead of pellets perhaps?

My Mrs "found" 20 pairs of jeans in the wardrobe..all hers, mostly unworn...she's got NOTHING to wear though!
As for beer...a few of my finest...Pale ales tonight...

Cheaky half of my IPA to see if it's ready. It isn't, but it's close. Tastes promising.

Now a couple of Rudgate Ruby Milds.

Mmmm, I'm liking this mild stuff. Yet another one that would make a perfect session ale. 4.4%, dark, but not chewy.

Ringwood Old Thumper - OK, but there are other ESB's that I prefer. Didn't keep ahead at all in my glass. One I'll have to try again to give it a fair shot.

Great Newsome Brewery Jem's Stout - a lowish gravity (4.3%) stout that tastes anything but. Really like this.

Black wheat I made with Lidl flour. It's embarassingly nicer than most of beers I've made with normal ingredients. I can't wait to give it to other people and then tell them what it's made from.

what a nightmare.

got a keg of budvar that as a best before date of March 2017 so I thought I would open it.

first issue was on twisting the bung nothing happened so couldn't use bottom tap.

next issue was the bung wasnt designed for the party star but managed to get it in. but it doesn't seal tight. finally got a pint out of it but knocked it over myself and my garage floor
