Made up a batch yesterday, the fermenter went in the fridge at about 25C and cooled over night to 10C. It has a layer of what appears to be foam on top, half an inch thick and still rising, pure white and really thick consistency, it looks like, and seems to have the same consistency as [I lifted a teaspoonful out], meringue before it's set.

I'm thinking it's probably just fine bubbles rising up and clumping to make one great big pie on top of the lager but I've never seen anything like it before. I've used 34/70 for the first time in it, perhaps it's something peculiar to that strain?

I've had that and I've had it look like "Medusas's hair" or "Cthulu in a bucket".

Type "krazy krausen" into google images. It'll put your mind at rest.
