Czech pilsner again. Gotta check tomorrow if the spring bock is ready for bottling, and brew #1 in a serie of ales, on cml.

Alas still on good old aqua!, no booze since before xmas, just too much medication:headbang:,no brewing either:sad1:

Due to installing a new woman cave for SWMBO, I've not been able to brew for a while; so I've got a couple of bottles of Bishop's Finger and a couple of Wild Bill's. Both are my Aldi go to's.

Hope you get sorted soon matey.
I’m without brewing for 4 weeks now and getting twitchy already !!

Cheers, might be a while yet .I do look into the forum now and again but not much to contribute though:(, asleep most of the time due to meds:doh:

Bottled my 'old ale' tonight, and do you know, there was exactly a pint left in the bottling bucket, so I tjougth it would be a shame to waste it. It's sort of Hobgoblin like, but nicer. It will be even better once conditioned.

Next up, a few bottles of Hobgoblin (from Aldi)..

Tried the M&S blood orange wheat tonight. I had expected either a wit with a twist or an American wheat but it was neither really. Crystal clear and amber in colour, slight orangey taste but not significant. Starting to wish I’d gone for the grapefruit IPA instead.

After drinking an ESB this afternoon watching the rugby (we won!) I decided to break out the last but one bottle of last Xmas Barley Wine.
It does have some definite merits @ 10% but it was a big fag to make, nurture, nurture some more, pour into a large jug before the drinking glass and finally drink.
SWMBO drinks Prosecco these days and this BW is not far off in ABV from this style of sparkling wine.

Here we are - Started 16 Feb 2017 Bottled 8 March 2017. The "big beer" from a Parti-gyle experiment. I chucked a Coopers kit and a load of Cascade in the secondary beer from the gyle and that was very nice indeed. In fact, it was so much more satisfactory than the strong beer, it may be a lesson...

Greene King Chevalier / Heritage series Vintage Fine Ale.

I know there is not a lot of love in general for Greene King, but this is one of the best bottled bitters I've had in a long time.

You get a full pint (568ml), at 6.5%, bottle conditioned. Lovely fluffy head that lasted all the way down, toffee flavoured malt, lingering bitterness.

Non-alcohol IPA. I heard that Nanny State tastes like dish water, so I'll give this one a try tonight. After it cooled down enough. Anyone familiar with it?

The Nanny State is worth a shout - it's nice and hoppy as you would expect from Brewdog, but did lack real body. But waaaay better than a lot of other non-alcoholic beers.

The best non-alcohol one I've had is Big Drop Pale Ale: https://www.bigdropbrew.com/

Worst is non-alcohol Cobra. Tasted like someone had blended a Weetabix in some water and added a couple of sweetners.

On which note, tonight is probably going to be Rochefort 8.

Waiting for the IPA to cool. In the mean time German Organic Lager, 4.8%
Got a box of 24 for free at the bio-shop because bestbeforedate was daybeforeyesterday.
Oh well. VERY drinkable, for a lager. Also tipped my mates from the brew club :-)
