How does this sound folk for a 22l AG BIAB Batch:

2kg Maris Otter
1kg German Pils
500g Carapils
900g Flaked Maize

12g Simcoe for 60.

CML Pale Ale Yeast.

Just took a fg on this....it's gone to 1006 with the cml cali common yeast,88% attenuation and a not so quaffable 6.3%! Colour is the palest I've seen! Gonna kick the stout out the fridge and cold crash this now. Should have mentioned it's roughly the gh cream ale....

I used cornflakes instead of flaked maize at about 15% w/w equivalent of the grain bill in a recent beer and was not impressed, there was a distinct taste of breakfast cereal. Not for me.

This tastes fine. The brew fridge has an eerie tangerine glow about it. My stout was at 1012 which seemed a little high so I put it onto the heat pad and it's pressurised and kicked off again....

A few weeks later than planned but we’re off with this one.
Mashing as we speak.
I went for actual flaked maize in the end as opposed to cheap stuff by way of experiment. Will try cornflakes next and compare.
The texture of flaked is tougher - put it this way you couldn’t pour milk over and eat !!

Trying CML Pale yeast for the first time today.

I find the pale yeast comparable to 05...it ferments very quickly initially but I still leave it a couple of weeks. It drops very clear but isn't that flocculant. I'm going to try and repeat some brews with mj to see if there's a vast difference. The cml is dead cheap though....

MJ is on my list to try.
I’d forgotten I had this CML , when rummaging through my brew tub found it !

All done. Efficiency wasn’t perfect , a couple of points down 1.050 v 1.053 but should still be ok.

Nicely tucked away in the brew fridge now next to the merry berry cider bubbling away !

MJ M44 sticks to the bottom of the bottle like cement, same with M54!

Bottled this one up today. More than I thought at 43 bottles .

Taste was pleasant .. but not the cream ale I was thinking ... give it time ?
