Certainly, the Romans used to have vineyards in Lincoln, so with modern cultivars it doesn't surprise me to see them being grown commercially in more northerly areas.

What, if anything, that says about global warming I know not.

It says to ignorant ( and gullible ) people that it is a new thing, therefore manmade global warming must be happening. AGW is, and always has been and always will be nothing more than a theory. Lol, as if super-accurate thermometers and recording stations etc etc existed hundreds of years ago, against which today's statistics are compared. And Arctic ice, the poster-boy for global warming, has only been charted via satellite since the 70s - absolutely nothing in the scheme of things, and has always waxed and waned in volume and extent. Those that say something is amiss are plain wrong and don't have your best interests at heart. 'Climate scientists' will never backtrack after all these years, having gotten this far in promoting their agenda and losing the income from those who pay them to advance it. Turkeys don't vote for Xmas....

A recent peer reviewed study showed that about 97% of climate scientists believe that global warming is happening and is largely caused by human activity. Do you think they are all being disingenuous due to the funding or research grants?

I always wondered why there would be more money in research supporting climate change than those denying it to the benefit of the trillion dollar industries that are harmed by it....

Peer reviewed, that says it all - "you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours". And the quoted 97% are cherry-picked for a reason. Take a look how many independent and unbiased scientists think the opposite. Controlling carbon dioxide emissions, which make up a trace of what is already a trace natural constituent of the atmosphere, is about a lot of things... climate is not one of them.

Ok got it. The 3% are unbiased and independent whereas the 97%, of over 10,000 scientists, have some hidden agenda or ulterior motive.

It's conspiracy theory nonsense. You don't think a handful of the 10,000 would come forward with proof that they were being asked to lie?

That's right. Why would 10,000 scientists all be studying climate and the role of CO2 anyway? How many does it actually take to keep repeating the same old ( false) message? AGW: the greatest scam ever perpetrated on humanity, by humans. Wait til they ask us to stop brewing, to save the world. My, it's warm today. We all know that this summer's heat and longevity of, will be caused by global warming - guarantee it. Kids, you weren't around 42 years ago before billions of tons of our CO2 had been added to the atmosphere... made 'now' look like a mild spell in Greenland.

Well I for one am happy to hear AGW is a scam, I've enough to worry about what with chemtrails and all...

This got me curious, what are the main reasons from your point of view?

That would be because we already have lots of sharks round our coasts. Perhaps they mean the sort that eat people.

Yep it's the eating people type they were discussing.

I've still got three small scars on my left forearm from when a Tope decided to have a lump out of me!

I caught it off the Lincolnshire coast back in 1973 and I didn't even know it had bitten me until I felt a "tap-tap-tap" on my left hand and realised that it was blood running down my arm and dripping off the end of my little finger.

Here's a bit of irony for you. Nigel Farage has just been chastised for catching a Tope because they are now a protected species. All the tripe that eejit has spouted and the Tope couldn't be bothered to bite him. There's no justice in the world!

PS
Nigel's Tope was a small specimen compared to what we used to catch! I blame the EU. :laugh8:clapa:laugh8:clapa
