Had probably my messiest brew day to date yesterday, despite it being just a small batch.
Decided to open the last bottle of stout I made a while ago, not a great beer but I needed the bottle to package up a christmas stout....WHOOOSH!! the biggest gusher I've ever had. It literally lept out of the bottle all over the counter and hob (where my kettle was boiling away), at least 3/4 of the bottle gone, with lots of that now baking onto the hob.
Luckily I had decided not to open it in the lounge as planned, as I needed to rinse my glass out, so it could have been a lot worse.
I think I'll be opening all my beers over the sink from now on...or just bottle less and keg everything.
