I have been fermenting a Woodfords Admirals reserve for about 4 weeks and when I went to bottle it I opened the lid of the fermenter and saw this ( photos attached ) a starnge floating film like white scum. The beer tastes
ok but is it safe to drink ?
Anyone know what this is ?

Hi!
Looks a bit iffy, but you could rack the beer off and leave it behind.

It looks like the very early stages of a pellicle. You can bottle from below it and it should be fine. You should bottle soon because the infection will continue to grow if you leave it.

+! foxbat,

Bottle it very gently from the below don't stir it. Then you will see very quickly (few days) on the top of your bottle if the infection is still there.
