Unexpected visitors

Went into my garage to clear a shelf for my bottled ESB that has carbed up and can come out of the water bath. Was horrified to notice some dropping shaped stuff on the shelf. Wet had in infestation last summer outside, so was bracing myself.

I have never been so pleased to see a big pile of swept up dead woodlice in my life! :laugh8:

Rats, caused by next doors chickens. You wouldn't believe the size of the nest I dug up after we had finally eliminated them. *Shudder*

I had loads of mice in my garage hiding out in an old fishing bag...when I found where they were there must have been 10 or more in it. Not a good performance from my 5 cats and terriers...

A single mouse got in my house some years ago after a few houses nearby were being fully renovated. The mouse was hiding in a cupboard. I have a photo somewhere of my three cats sitting, facing the cupboard, patiently. They sat there for hours, waiting. Poor mouse.
I don't know who finally got it.

Thought this was about human visitors at first, but never mind. Regarding those, there's a permanent notice on my door saying "Please do not knock. Working shifts, need sleep. Thanks". Works a treat and being the deeply unsocial bleeder that I am, very happy with its efficacy.

Gunge that's a great idea! I do have a "no cold calling" sign. This is often ignored and then I take great delight in going outside and asking the person if they can read then loudly reading out the sign and then explaining what it means.

Clint, try beefing up your sign a bit. At my previous home (in Hertfordshire) a weak sign had little effect, so I replaced it with a stronger one which work a treat. I'll try to attach a PDF of it below (not sure whether I can)...
