Anyone used 3L Beverage Pouches for wine?

My neighbour stores/gives away all his red in these :

Has anyone used / reused them?

they arent cheap, compared to bag-in-box, but I hate those and have had bad experiences with them leaking/splitting.

I only ever bottle my wine (novatwist and a dozen or so corked on rotation), but sometimes sterilising and filling all 28 bottles is a pain, so a couple of these would help

They look like a decent product but if they are prone to splitting I wouldn't risk it.

I also hate bottling (even with a little bottler which does make the job less hassle) i move from PET bottles to glass and Novatwist caps a long time ago and I wouldn't change now.

sorry chippy, i meant i had splits and leaks with bag in box, plus the bags are aweful to work with when full.

my neighbour has never had a leak so im going to try a couple, maybe 2 or 3 per kit so im only cleaning 20 bottles max.

They look OK if a bit pricey. I must admit I like the sight of 26 or so bottles of wine lined up on my worktop after bottling, I doubt these would give the the same satisfaction.
I'm pretty sure also the Mrs. would drink more if it was in these pouches.

I've been using vinotainers and have been happy with wine stored in them for over a year.

Maybe that's what your not happy with as it's a type of bag in the box but it's quite a strong container and I've reused mine several times.

They look quite tall and i doubt they would fit in my fridge even if i laid one on its side.

Yes,probably too tall for most peoples fridge, mine are out in the garage but easy to fill a decanter as and when needed which will go in the fridge.

i totally agree, and I love the sight of 28 bottles lines up and ready to go, dates and typ written on with white pen (I dont label), and when I bring wine boxes home from France I 100% drink more (just one more glass = 25% of a bottle that you otherwise wouldnt have opened) but I thought I'd give these a try. Not for a full batch, just to keep bottles at maybe 20? I've bought x4, will feed back

my mate uses these, they are brilliant, but i still like bottles !

I filled 28 bottles last night and was glad when it was over and everything was cleaned and put away, I like to see rows of bottles the next day begging to be polished off. :thumba:

Well they came, and I tried two. So easy compared to those BIB monstrosities. Filled 19.5 bottles, and 2 pouches. Time will tell how they last/re-use, but great so far to make bottling a little easier (I can only fit 20 bottles in my carry box to the kitchen to garage). You just lay them on their back, and they expand as they fill, quite rigid foil-like material so easy to fill/cap on my own.

both pouches empty, cleaned, and ready for re use. Easily the best thing I've ever used and made bottling so much easier.

How long they last will be key I guess, the tap only takes one click (BIB were 2 clicks if I remember correctly) so hope to get 3-4 uses
