I'm without pale malt this week, so it's going to be a at least Thursday before I can pick up my usual 25kg from my local supplier. Next weekend is the next opportunity for me to get a brew on and try my new 56 L boiler. So I'm chomping at the bit to get a brew on. I'm contemplating a double brew day to make up for lost time.

Kept correctly (cool, dark and air tight) it last months. When I buy a sack, i immediatly fill large zip log bags up with the grains so there's no air in the bags. I then put them back in the 25kg sack and that then goes into a 60L blue bin. In this way my crushed base malt lasts me months. I have a cheapo crusher that I use for specialty malts and buy them whole
 
Maltmiller put a year in the future best before date on my crushed to order recipes heat sealed into thick polythene bags, I'm happy with that I've brewed with 18month old malt recently and can't taste any different.
 
Yes, as suggested keep your crushed malt in appropriate storage and it will last a long time. although, given that I average 7 brews per 25kg sack, or less if I do higher ABV brew, it does not take long at all to get through a sack. When I have the time I like to do one brew a week, so that I have plenty of beer conditioning during my busy periods.
 
Must say I noticed a noticeable reduction in efficiency over a 2 to 3 month period from crushed pale malt.
Now grind my own and got an immediate big increase in efficiency. Don't know whether that's because the malt keeps better, or because my grind may be finer than when I bought in crushed.

Before I got my grain mill, I would buy 3 custom grain kits at a time from GEB and brew them over 2-4 months with no ill effect. I went 6 months once and it was fine too.

When I first went AG it was 2nd hand gear I got and I used an 18month old unopened 10kg sack of base malt for my first 2 brews. Back then I couldn’t tell the difference and I doubt I would now.
