Just a thought, mainly out of curiosity, how could you brew a kit beer weaker?
I'm guessing adding extra water would help but is there any other way? And would it work for any kit?
I've got no particular kit in mind, just wondered. Can't seem to find a definitive answer on Google.
Cheers....

Certainly more water will dilute the alcohol content

Using less yeast might also work but I've no experience, that's just my thinking

Add more water.
Use less sugar or malt.
If its a 23 litre two can premium kit like a Wherry you could brew one can only and brew longer from say any volume from 12 litres up.
Remember that the weaker you make it the thinner tasting it becomes.

I use kit beer as a session beer after a pint of my all grain brew, as once I've got the taste I want to carry on, but not at 5%+.
When I make the kit beer (usually just a cheap coopers lager kit/Range kit etc) I dont add any sugar or DME, just brew to about 21l using only the kit. It is probably at about 2-3% (never really checked), and it means I can carry on drinking obscene amounts without ending up falling down drunk. It also tastes ok (obviously not as good as the all grain), but not bad for a low alcohol kit beer
