I checked my beer last week and tasted very little (due to my allergies) Tried another bottle there now, carbonation has improved but it tastes burnt, almost stout like.

It had pale, caramel and Amber malts. I added an extra 250 grams each of Amber and crystal just because they were left over

Could that have caused the "burnt" flavour?

I've nothing to compare it to as it's my first all grain brew

I'll drink it, it's drinkable for me but I'm sure it's not to everyone's taste. I'll give it another week then have a session with it

Normally burnt flavour means you've burnt something. Do you use something with an element in it like an ACE boiler? As I've read other forumites getting burnt flavours in beer from burning wort on elements etc
