Yeah it would be a good one to enter if I could get there on there the day to sample some beers - 3 bottles per entry though

Is this the one that used to be called London and South East?

Disclaimer: I help run it.

But I think it's one of the best home brew events of the year. Where else are you going to get to try 450 home brews in one afternoon?

We also run the competition to the highest standard possible. All recognised judges, and we get the feedback to you in days. The cost of the first entry also gets you entry to the Sunday festival. Depending upon the number of entries we may go up to 3 per person - I'll let you know here if that happens.

If anyone wants to see how the judging is run you are more than welcome to come and help steward on the Saturday. Stewarding basically means bringing the judges a beer every 15 minutes or so, but you also get to do some tasting yourself. Ask me if you want to know anything else!

I've been using parcel force. They say there's a restriction of 1L per package for sending beer but I've never had any problems. They are quite expensive though.

Whenever I've posted beer and sent in the post I do get asked what's in the package, I just say something else.

I also usually use a courier for comp entries, not cheap but at least you get tracking so know they've arrived safely

It's 1 litre max per bottle/container. You can have lots of bottles in a package.

Like you I've had no issues myself with Parcelforce.

It's mostly really poorly packaged beers that get broken at the competition, although we seem to have the most issues with MyHermes. That may just be because they're cheap and so they get used the most though.

Nope myhermes just kick boxes around. It is just them.

LAB have announced that from Friday 8th March at 5.00pm, the individual entry limit will increase to 3, from 2, per person. I suspect most who are already registered will have gleaned this from the FB page already, however, thought it worth posting for those not on FB etc.
